YAKU KAUSAY "AGUA ES VIDA"

 

Away completely from industrial noise and air pollution the equatorial forest is home to over a third of all Amazonian mammals. At the Napo Cultural Center everything is life, rivers and causes represent purity and vitality under a perfect weather with the most comprehensive and important biodiversity in the world.

First Day

The journey begins in the capital of Ecuador, Quito, taking a flight to the city Coca. Assistance and transfer to the airport and Port of shipment Mission. The approach by canoe to the community of Anangu is planned between 11:30 and 12:30.

In this pleasant trip you can enjoy the company of several species like birds such as kingfishers, terns, shorebirds and other species that are sighted on the shores and small islands located at the Napo River.

Once you reach Napo Cultural Center, you will be warmly welcomed with soft drinks and snacks. Afterwards there are some talks to give the general information and you get to know the facilities of the place.

In the afternoon light excursions will go out to the banks of the Napo River to enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets seen on earth. Returning from the enjoyable trip expect a good dinner and a restful and serene rest.

Second Day

After a pleasant breakfast you will board a boat that takes you to three amazing destinations during the day. First getting to a salting settlement where it is easy to admire the beautiful landscape there. One can find more than 11 species of parrots, parakeets and scarlet macaws in certain seasons, of course all depending the weather.

The morning will end with an educational visit of the Interpretation Center "Kuri Muyu" managed by a women of the community. You will learn more about the Kichwa culture, craftsmanship, tradition and ancestral uses of natural resources. Then, expect a delicious lunch and a relaxing break at the Napo Cultural Center.

In the afternoon you will have fun with an extraordinary visit of sewer pipes (Igapo), a motorized canoe and travel the path Guangara or Kuri Muyo. While returning you will probably see alligators perched on the banks of the Rio Napo. After arriving at the hotel, you can enjoy a great dinner with typical cuisine and a warm farewell.

Third day


(Optional) You can share a morning of ancestral customs of the Kichwa culture at 4 in the morning, take wayusa to energize body and mind and listen to wonderful songs in their native language, interpret dreams and meditation exercises to enliven the soul.

After breakfast we expected a pleasant farewell. To pick you and your luggage up, a canoe will be waiting to lead you back to the city of Coca.

 

SUMAK KAWSAY "VIDA PLENA"

 

In the Kichwa culture, the meaning of "sumak Kawsay" goes back to the ancient roots of the equatorial land, "sumak" refers to the beautiful and perfect formation of the world, while "kawsay" means life in harmony. Sumak Kawsay is more than a word, it is a mythological expression of passion for life considering people as a creation by the "Mother Earth".

In Ecuador the "full life" in the indigenous tradition is inspired by the fertilized appreciate creation of the earth and the universe and the things done by man. Aboriginal men as sons of the soil used just enough natural resources to live without needs and fully in harmony.


Four days / three nights:

To provide you one of the best experiences of your life in the Amazon jungle of Ecuador and an enjoyable trip with a harmonious time, Napo Cultural Center offers:

First Day


This jungle experience begins from Quito where you will take a flight to Coca. From this point you will be moved to the port Añangu Mission by a canoe trip from 11:30 to 12: 30 hours.

During the unforgettable journey you can enjoy bird watching, such as kingfishers, terns, shorebirds and other species that are sighted on the shores and small islands located in the Napo River.

By arriving the hotel Napo Cultural Center, you enter one of the largest sites of ecological diversity. Moreover you will be kindly welcomed with tasty refreshing drinks and snacks, papers for newcomers of the Kichwa culture and allocation of cabins in the Amazon comfort.

At dusk enjoy a pleasant walk towards the river Napo where there awaits a magnificent sunset of all time. Closing the day with a nice relaxing dinner under a sky splendid with one of the best star sightings in the world.

Second Day

Start your day with a nice breakfast and then visit beautiful saladeros easy settlement (three locations). And if weather conditions permit enjoy wildlife, more than 11 species of macaws, parrots and parakeets.

After the morning you will visit the Interpretation Center "Kuri Muyu" attended by women from the community. There you will learn about the culture of the Anangu Kichwa, traditions and how the natives take advantage of nature for crafts and construction of tools for hunting, fishing and gathering. After the tour awaits you at the hotel a delicious lunch and a comfortable rest in the Eco Lodge.

Then, before sunset, you will have the opportunity to meet the sewer pipes (Igapo) Guangara or walk the trail to Kuri Muyo where you probably will see alligators resting on the banks of the Rio Napo. And to close the day, the hotel will offer a gastronomic menu of representative country food
.

Third day:


After an energetic breakfast you can visit the magnificent communal community projects. During this cultural and educational tour you will be informed about the Kichwa worldview and traditional medicine made from plants. Then you will walk the path Mama Cot (Samona) to appreciate the wild and wonderful scenery and wildlife. You will find: ceibos centenarians, matapalos, bamboo cane, vines and shrubs endemic Yasuni.

After this pleasant visit you will return to the Yasuni Kichwa Ecolodge where you will be greeted with a tasty farewell dinner inspired by the cuisine.

Fourth Day:

SUMAK HUASI "CASA BONITA"

 

Sumak Huasi: its meaning is "beautiful house" in Kichwa language. This word invites us to share in harmony and explore where everything is alive and feel like apart of the family, a family full of cultures and traditions that embrace the visitor and makes them part of equatorial jungle life.

To start the day you can enjoy a nice breakfast and a magnificent ride to three different destinations of salting easy landing. While your trip you can watch more than 11 species of parakeets and parrots that live there, enjoying the most beautiful wildlife. If you are there for the right seasons, scarlet macaws decorate the sky.

The afternoon of the second day will be very culturally. You can learn about the culture that surrounds the Anangu Kichwa community and how they took advantage of the environment for the manufacture of tools for good living in a "nice house". The presentation will be held at the Center of Interpretation "Kuri Muyu" directed by women of the community. After an educational evening you can go to rest in the Eco Lodge Hotel and enjoy a good meal.

And for that unforgettable day in the afternoon you can visit the famous sewer pipes (Igapo) between the path Kuri Muyo Guangara or resting place of exotic alligators at the River Napo.

Returning waits a comforting meal with a backdrop with the best Amazon sunset that you can have. Appreciate.

Third Day:

After a delicious and nutritious breakfast expect a slight excursion to visit some community projects nearby. You will have the opportunity to learn more about the Kichwa worldview and medicinal preparations made by the aborigines themselves with jungle elements. After this walk you have the opportunity to go to Mama path Cot (samona) to be closer to the impressive wildlife, including: matapalos, bamboo cane, ancient ceibos, vines and shrubs endemic Yasuni.

And, before the stars imposed the beautiful sky, you will return to Yasumi Ecolodge to enjoy dinner with dishes from the equator cuisine.

Fourth Day

On this day you will get closer to the wildlife with a visit of the observation tower. With 35m in height the perfect place to admire a variety of birds like toucans, parrots, among other beautiful birds and howler monkeys, varizos and lazy among many animals that inhabit the area.

Fifth Day


Enjoy a morning full of energy and vitality in the "nice house" and share from 4am taking, to start the day, Wayusa, energy drink, listening to songs in native language and presentation of topics of interest and meditation exercises and interpretation of dreams.

Then in the hotel dining room you will wait a magnificent farewell breakfast to await the canoes to come to pick us up to take us back to the city of Coca.

 

 

REMARKS: Departures any day with 4 passengers minimum in any of our itineraries.
